Phillip Schofield downs whiskey sours at 9am during filming for boozy TV show

Phillip Schofield didn’t hold back as he downed drinks just hours after leaping out of bed on Sunday morning.

The This Morning presenter gave fans behind-the-scenes insights to his upcoming Christmas special, How To Spend It.

Phillip, 58, will be sharing his words of wisdom on how to buy the perfect Christmas present and the hottest gadgets that are available on the market.

He’ll also be revealing how to get the most out of your money, from things such as food, decorations and toys for the celebratory day.

Heading to Instagram just before 8.30am, a tired Phillip informed fans that he was almost at the set for the Christmas special.

Before entering the set, he said: “It is very early in the morning… last day of filming for How to Spend It with the team here.”

The Dancing On Ice presenter headed into a Christmas filled home which had been carefully decorated to replicate the festive holiday.

He later revealed on his Stories that he was downing a well-deserved drink but not your typical drink to quench your morning first.

“First shot of the day, a whiskey sour. It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it,” he revealed to his 3.2 million Instagram followers.

The veteran presenter later went on to tease fans as he showed off a mouth-watering display of truffles that he later devoured.

“There are things we do on the show that are right up my alley,” he explained as he sniffed an Alba white truffle.

“Look at all this truffle malarkey we’ve got going on,” he went on to say.

The truffles will set you back a whopping £150 for 30 grams.

It was revealed that everybody working on the show had to undergo coronavirus tests before being given access to the set due to the ongoing pandemic.

How To Spend It is expected to hit screens later this year.
