TV host Matthew Wright’s wife Amelia suffered panic attacks and was too afraid to leave her home after a terrifying stalker ordeal.
Amelia has told how she’s been left “emotionally scarred” following the ordeal which “took over their lives”.
The couple opened up about it in their first TV interview with Lorraine Kelly after a woman involved, aged 53, admitted to one count of stalking to cause serious alarm or distress between November and May 2018 at Wood Green Crown Court earlier this month.
In an interview in 2016, the woman declared herself a “super fan” after appearing in the audience of Matthew’s show The Wright Stuff.

During the stalking, the women tormented them for six months and was recorded by the pair shouting through their letterbox, which they recorded as evidence.
Matthew and Amelia, who share a young daughter named Cassidy, appeared on Lorraine on Monday to chat about what happened.
She told host Lorraine Kelly that while heavily pregnant, the woman taunted her about the risks of experiencing a stillbirth, and when Cassidy was born she apparently appeared outside the family’s home asking to hold the baby.
In a video which aired on the ITV show, Matthew and his wife were seen nervously hiding out in their study with their daughter, as someone was heard shouting in the background.

Amelia told Lorraine: “I feel sick to my stomach watching that footage, it was just the most horrendous time, scary and frightening.”
The woman was banned from being an audience member for Matthew’s show and reportedly turned up to a charity event which the couple was attending.
Tearing up, Amelia recalled: “I was heavily pregnant and she said to me, ‘women of your age are more likely to have a stillbirth’, I was shocked to my core.”
Matthew added: “I clocked her talking to Amelia. I ran off the stage and grabbed Amelia, and we went home a different route so she wouldn’t be able to find us, but she had our address.”

Amelia then claimed that just days later she was home alone and the woman showed up and told her she would find what maternity ward she would be in.
She alleged the woman said she would be there “waiting for her and the baby”.
The police were then involved but the woman still returned after the birth of the baby.
Amelia continued: “She was trying to put her hand in the letterbox asking for the baby.”
The new mum said she suffered panic attacks and was “too scared” to leave her home in case her little girl was snatched.
“It takes over your life,” Matthew revealed before Amelia confessed the longstanding effects it has had on her mental health.
She revealed: “It’s cast a long shadow over me, I am still shaken by the whole thing and feel upset. Obviously, I hope help is given but it’s left me emotionally scarred.”
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
