This Morning viewers were unimpressed when they tuned in on Wednesday to see that things had got pretty festive in the studio.
Presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby began the show by playing with some remote control cars as they revealed they were hosting a segment on Christmas toys later on in the show.
While Phillip, 58, was distracted with the gadget, Holly, 39, opened the latest edition of the ITV daytime show.
As the blonde beauty welcomed fans to the programme, viewers at home rushed to their keyboards as they spotted a decorated Christmas tree in the background.
Taking to Twitter, one fan moaned: “Good morning, Oh no! Is that a Christmas tree I see on set?”
Another added: “Christmas tree? Not even been Halloween or Bonfire Night yet?”
A third person said: “As if they have their Christmas tree on This Morning set.”
While a fourth moaned: “The f***ing Christmas tree is up.”
“I mean, I’m all for the Christmas shnizzle and enjoying the build up… but @thismorning can we just enjoy Halloween/Bonfire night first,” said a fifth viewer.
It comes after Phillip Schofield announced to This Morning viewers on Tuesday morning that he was “leaving” the ITV show to retrain as a paramedic.
The 58-year-old’s comment came as a result of taking the government’s ‘retraining’ survey – which was put out after it was suggested those working in the arts and creative industry could retrain for new careers in the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, thankfully, the morning TV favourite was just joking, so won’t be disappearing from our screens anytime soon.
After explaining the survey, the presenter told viewers at home: “I’ve just announced I’m leaving This Morning and I’m going to become a paramedic,”- leaving host Holly Willoughby to quip: “[It was] nice knowing you!”
Phillip later added during the show: “My uncle was a paramedic and I was so impressed by what he could do, I loved all that.”
Meanwhile, the London Ambulance Service picked up on the ITV star’s comments, tweeting him directly: “We think you’d be great!”
The government’s careers quiz caused a major stir on social media, with many users sharing the bizarre results they’d got, from professional boxers to actors.
Interest in the questionnaire came after Rishi Sunak said people “in all walks of life” should consider a new career if they found themselves unemployed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
