GBBO viewers horrified as 'sweaty' Paul Hollywood talks 'peeling his jeans off'

Great British Bake Off viewers were left horrified on Tuesday as judge Paul Hollywood revealed that the hot weather during filming left him “peeling his jeans off”.

The remaining six bakers were set their toughest challenge to date during the latest instalment of the Channel 4 baking competition as temperatures soared to over 30C on the day of filming.

Paul, 54, told fellow judge Prue Leith and hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding that he was forced to “peel off his jeans” due to the scorching 30 degrees temperature.

The GBBO judge’s racy overshare left viewers at reaching for the remote as they couldn’t get the vision of a semi-naked Paul out of their heads.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Whatever Paul Hollywood had to do with his jeans I don’t want to know!”

Another ranted: “I could have done without knowing Paul had to peel his jeans off.”

A third said: “Eww. And he’s wearing the same jeans for a second day.”

While a fourth said: “Prue hates baked beans and Paul peels his jeans off. I’ve learnt so much in one episode.”

Viewers were not the only ones taken aback by the silver fox’s comment.

Judge Prue told her co-star: “We didn’t need to know that.”

Only three challenges stood between the contestants and the quarter final and the pressure got to some more than others.

Things heated up as the bakers attempted to make ice cream cake in the hot weather.

Frustrated contestant Laura said: “Oh god, oh god, oh f*8k. Worse case scenario, it has not set. It’s a f**king mess.”

Host Matt Lucas scolded the GBBO judges for setting the ice cream challenge on such a hot day but Paul Hollywood simply replied: “We didn’t know that.”

Earlier on the show, the signature challenge featured a classic quiche, while the technical round required the bakers to master a popular retro sweet treat as part of an 80s theme across the whole episode.

It was Lottie Bedlow who got the boot from the tent during the latest episode, with five bakers now remaining in the competition.

Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 on Tuesday at 8pm
