Piers Morgan ‘s mum issued a complaint about the new filming angles on Good Morning Britain this week, leading the camera crew to act fast.
Earlier this year, GMB introduced a new style of filming during the pandemic, doctoring angles to make it appear as though Piers and Susanna Reid were sitting side-by-side, while maintaining social distancing.
However, the 55-year-old presenter revealed his beloved mum Gabrielle wasn’t keen on the new angles, as it made him look shorter than usual.
Susanna let the cat out of the bag, revealing Piers’ mum had a problem with the filming technique, as she asked: “Didn’t your mum also have another issue about optics on the programme?”
Piers then confessed she had planned to keep it to herself, saying: “She said ‘please don’t mention this out loud but you are sitting too low. You and Susanna are the same height’.”

He added: “We can’t have that can we? Susanna, down you go.”
Susanna then lowered her seat, making it appear as though she was shrinking rapidly, eventually ending up with her head under the table.
Piers joked: “Mum is worried about the power base!”
Piers then suggested that his mum would love if Susanna were missing from the shot altogether, and quipped: “She’d probably prefer if you were completely out of the shot, rather like your mother would with me.”

The camera crew then managed to change Piers’ own camera, as he shrunk before viewers, with Susanna towering over him.
Laughing, Piers added: “This is for Susanna’s mum – my biggest fan.”
Susanna replied: “It’s not like our mums are competitive about our roles on the programme.”
However, bringing the joke to an end, Piers conceded that his mum Gabrielle was, in fact, right about the height issue.
He pointed out: “She’s right, I am a lot taller than you.”
