Gogglebox favourite Tom Malone Jr has slammed Warner Bros for asking Johnny Depp to resign from the Fantastic Beasts film franchise after he lost his libel trial.
Last week judge Andrew Nichol said Depp, 57, had “not succeeded in his action for libel” against The Sun newspaper after it described him as a “wife beater” in a story.
Depp denied he had assaulted his ex wife Amber Heard but the judge ruled that 12 of the 14 alleged domestic violence incidents did occur.
The star later took Instagram to explain he had been asked to step down by Warner Bros from his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and had “agreed” to the request.
Now breakdancing enthusiast Tom has leapt to the defence of Depp – suggesting he was a victim and that evidence in the case suggested he was innocent.

He told his 65,500 Twitter followers: “Just putting it out there….but Johnny Depp being asked to step down from Grindelwald is a massive act of Victim Shaming.”
His post was met with mixed opinions from his followers.
One wrote: “No. It’s an example of “consequences” and the right thing to do.”
Another said: “You’re a hero for calling this out.”
A fan also questioned Tom about his post, saying “I thought he was found to be a wife beater?”

The star then insisted Depp was innocent, saying: “No the evidence supported that he was the victim and was abused by Amber Heard. She then lied to blame him.
He added “ALL evidence supports Depp’s innocence”.
In Depp’s Instagram statement he also outlined his plans to appeal the court decision.

He wrote: “In light of recent events, I would like to make the following short statement.
“Firstly, I’d like to thank everybody who has gifted me with their support and loyalty.
“I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days.
“Finally, I wish to say this.
“The surreal judgement of the court in the UK will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal.”
