Victoria has had a long career in broadcasting, starting as a local radio reporter, before moving to BBC Radio 5 Live in 1998.
Since then Victoria has had a successful career presenting news and political programmes, including Newsnight, Victoria Derbyshire Interviews… and This Week.
Victoria has also presented BBC Panorama, and SportsTalk on Channel 4.
In 2015 she started her own current affairs programme The Victoria Derbyshire Show, which ran until March 2020.

It was axed because the costs were too high, with BBC’s head of news Fran Unsworth saying it “had not been an easy decision”.
She explained Victoria will “continue to lead on some of the high-profile audience events and original stories she has championed so effectively in recent years”.
She is now the main presenter of BBC News at Nine on the BBC News Channel.

In July 2019, the BBC published their latest report of its highest-paid stars.
This revealed Victoria had a salary between £215,000 to £219,999 for the year 2018/2019.
She was the 14th highest earning woman at the BBC, with stars such as Claudia Winkleman, Fiona Bruce and Sara Cox ahead of her.
