Alison Hammond lands second ITV role after 'replacing Eamonn and Ruth'

Alison Hammond has apparently landed not one, but two new roles working with ITV.

The 45-year-old has reportedly been offered a regular gig hosting This Morning every Friday alongside Dermot O’Leary, replacing Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

And now, the mum-of-one has revealed she’s got another job in the pipelines and took to social media to share her good news.

Posting a picture on Twitter, Alison told her fans: “BREAKING NEWS Guess what? @ITV have given me my very own podcast – My Life In TV. YIPEE !!

“I’ll delve into the fave telly moments & memories of famous faces including Emily Atack, Joel Dommett, AJ Odudu, Mo Gilligan and Olivia Attwood.”

The official ITV Twitter account also shared the news and wrote: “Yep, that’s right. We’re launching a brand new podcast, hosted by the absolute icon, @AlisonHammond.

“Talking to your favourite on-screen faces about the glue that holds us all together: telly. Listen wherever you get your podcasts, from Mon 23 Nov #MyLifeInTV.”

Alison’s famous pals were quick to reply with Scarlett Moffatt and Strictly’s Clara Amfo immediately responding with a series of applause emojis.

Former Blue Peter presenter Angelica Bell wrote back: “Congratulations hun! Boom!” and fellow I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! alumni Jake Quickenden told her: “Well in girl x.”

The news comes after ITV reportedly shut down rumours that they had sacked Ruth and Eamonn, both 60, from This Morning.

Alison will be hosting her very own podcast called My Life in TV starting this month

A spokesperson for This Morning told Metro.co.uk: “We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly and Phillip and Eamonn and Ruth.

“Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course.”

Eamonn and Ruth have been hosting the show on Fridays and during school half-terms and summer holidays since 2006.

They’ve reportedly been told they will be replaced by Alison and Dermot after their successful previous appearances.

The Mirror reported that the couple are “furious and upset” over the news but will still host the show during the kids’ summer holidays whilst Holly and Phil are off.

Speaking during a previous Facebook Live event, Eamonn revealed that it was “stressful” knowing that online haters hoped to have him fired.

“People say it’s water off a duck’s back but people wake up and they know they can get you sacked…

“That’s the thing about live TV, it can be very stressful,” reported The Mirror.

It’s said that the Belfast-born reporter had recently feared that he was too “pale, stale and male” for the NTA winning programme.
