AJ Pritchard's grandad gushes over late wife who was proud of grandsons

AJ Pritchard’s grandad has spoken out following the death of his beloved wife.

The news was shared on Curtis Pritchard’s Instagram account on Monday that the brothers had sadly lost their gran, Angela, 93, on Friday last week.

Angela had been diagnosed with dementia in 2010 but sadly passed away with two relatives by her side last week.

Now, her husband of almost 70-years, Leslie, has paid tribute to his wife who he says was the “love of his life”.

Speaking to StokeOnTrent Live, Leslie said: “It is with great sadness that my beautiful wife Angela has passed away. She was the love of my life.

“One of her greatest pleasures right until the end of her life was seeing AJ and Curtis, as well as her other grandchildren, flourish in their careers, and she made it clear she would hate for them to give up their dreams.

“l want to thank everybody for being so kind during such a difficult and sad time for our family.”

AJ’s brother Curtis shared the devastating news on social media

AJ, 26, who is currently starring in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has no idea that his beloved “nanna” has passed away and will only find out when he exits the castle.

Curtis, 24, revealed that Angela’s wish was for her famous grandson to continue with his time on I’m A Celeb.

In a heartfelt post on his social media channel, he said: “It is following our grandad’s wishes that myself and AJ are to carry on with the current projects we are committed to.

“Grandad said to myself and AJ, that it would break his heart for us to stop what we were doing as Nanna had such pride in our work.”

The Stoke-born dancer added: “AJ, therefore, discussed with the family before entering the castle that if something did happen to Nanna whilst he was away, that he wouldn’t want to be told until he left the castle and that in her honour he would complete his commitment to the show, with a view to doing her and the family proud.

“As Grandad and Nanna would have wished for, AJ will stay in the castle and continue making her proud wherever she is watching from.”

Curtis went on to share his upset that only two members of his family were able to visit Angela in line with the current coronavirus restrictions.
