Maisie Smith says footballers have been messaging her after sexy Strictly dance

Strictly Come Dancing starlet Maisie Smith has admitted that her sexy dancing on the hit BBC show has resulted in multiple footballers sliding into her DMs.

The EastEnders actress, 19, joked it must have been her ‘shaking her hips’ that caught the sporting stars’ attention.

Maisie said: “There’s been a couple of boys sliding into my DMs (direct messages)!

“People saw me shake my hips on the samba and it tickled a couple of feathers!”

The actress teased: “So I’ve had a couple of people message me… Ooh, I couldn’t say.

“I’ve had messages from a couple of footballers, but I can’t say who – it wouldn’t be fair.”

Since the show began, Maisie has been linked to fellow contestant HRVY.

The YouTuber, whose real name is Harvey Cantrell, was caught flirting with Maisie on Instagram last month but Maisie insist it was simply banter.

She told Daily Star: “I was expecting these romance rumours from day one.

“I’m 19, he’s 21, we’re both single, so I feel like it was inevitable – but we’re just good pals at the moment.

“When I commented on his Instagram – I literally said he looked like spaghetti – everyone went mad calling me a flirt!

“I’m enjoying getting to know him, we have a connection, but we’re just friends.”

Keen to play down any rumours she is ready for a man, Maisie added: “But to be honest, with Strictly and lockdown, I’m not dating.

“I love being single, I’m finding happiness within myself and it’s taken me a long time to do that.

“I’m trying to focus on that before I open up to someone else.”

On Sunday night Maisie sailed through to the next round of the prime time TV show after finding herself in the bottom two twice already.

Speaking to Daily Star about claims Maisie is ‘too confident’ on the show, It Takes Two host Rylan said: “People forget she is 19 and she’s on Strictly Come Dancing living her best life.

“She is a fantastic dancer and I think a lot of people get confused with confidence and arrogance.

“If you go on the show and you’re really nervous it will affect your performance.”
