I'm A Celeb Vernon Kay and Tess Daly in emotional reunion after five weeks apart

Vernon Kay and Tess Daly are finally reunited, posing for a loved-up snap together after five gruelling weeks spent apart.

Having made it to the I’m A Celebrity final earlier this week, Vernon, 46, was eliminated from the competition on Friday evening, finishing in third place.

He returned to the couple’s Buckinghamshire home the following day – but Tess, 51, was busy presenting Strictly Come Dancing in London at the time.

Finally reunited once she returned home from filming, the lovebirds looked head over heels as they posed in matching turtlenecks on Sunday afternoon.

Vernon hasn’t seen his family for the past five weeks, as the 2020 series required each contestant to spent two and a half weeks in self-isolation before the kick-off date.

Tess and Vernon were finally reunited this weekend, as they plotted to dress the Christmas tree as a family

Sharing a selfie over Instagram, Tess said: “After almost 5 weeks away (2 and a half in isolation before going into the @imacelebrity Castle) it’s so good to have him home.

“Now it’s time to get that Christmas tree up…!”

Tess and Vernon tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Bolton 17 years ago, with the groom wearing a jazzy white tuxedo to mark the occasion.

One of the UK’s most beloved showbiz couples, the TV personalities are proud parents to two daughters – Phoebe, 16, and Amber, 11.

During his time in Gwrych Castle in North Wales, Vernon made it clear he missed waking up next to Tess every morning, even tearing up during the grand finale.

Watching her hubby on the telly each night back in England, Tess was moved to tears when Vernon made it through to the finale, competing against Giovanna Fletcher and Jordan North.

Her eyes welling up, the mum-of-two exclaimed: “He’s in the final!

“I can’t believe it, my heart is just racing I am literally so excited, and nervous, and overwhelmed.”

Vernon was just as emotional, telling Daily Star he broke down in tears at one point when the separation grew too much to bear.

He said: “And when you’re in there, you are emotionally drained because you are missing your family. I felt comfortable with that group of people that I could cry.

“I didn’t think about trying to stop myself from getting emotional.”
