Corrie fans gobsmacked at Michelle Keegan's changing face during 60th special

Coronation Street viewers were left utterly shellshocked at Michelle Keegan ‘s dramatic transformation during the 60th anniversary episode.

The 33-year-old caused quite a stir as she returned to the iconic cobbles, featuring as part of the special, Coronation Street : 60 Unforgettable Years.

On the programme, that celebrated the landmark occasion, fans were transported back in time and treated to a glimpse of Michelle who joined the cast back in 2007.

While fans were overjoyed to see the actress again, many couldn’t help but share their views on how different she looked now, when compared to her character Tina McIntyre.

After spotting the noticeable difference, with side by side comparison on the anniversary tribute, many fans took to Twitter to flood their opinions.

One tweet read: “Is it just me but does Michelle Keegan look different? It’s as though she’s had loads of work done to her face?! Not sure why though cos she was beautiful!”

A second wrote: “Just watching the documentary about Corrie and Michelle Keegan doesn’t even look like Michelle Keegan anymore. What has she done?”

Another added:”Sad to see Michelle Keegan in #Corrie60 Why would someone so naturally attractive do that to herself?”

While a forth penned: “Watching this #Corrie60 thing and Michelle Keegan doesn’t look like Michelle Keegan anymore.”

In spite of looking miles apart from her former self, fans were interested to hear that Michelle had not told her family of her plans to audition for the legendary soap.

After a clip of her first audition had played, Michelle explained: “I didn’t tell my parents that I was going for the role.

“I didn’t tell them I was going for the final audition because I thought, ‘I don’t want to tell them that I didn’t get the job.””

One moment that “will stay with Michelle forever” was when her father learned that she had landed the part on the programme.

Having not told her dad she was going for the role in the first place, she strategically placed the scripts in the back of the car and asked him to pass them to her as she left the vehicle which resulted in lots of happy tears being shed.

Michelle played barmaid Tina McIntyre on the soap from 2007 to 2013, speaking about her departure, she said: “I have had the most amazing six years at Coronation Street and it was such a difficult decision to leave.

“But I felt it was the right time for me to make the next step in my career.

“I will miss Tina and will always be grateful to ITV and Coronation Street for giving me such an amazing role to play for my first ever acting job.”
