Coleen Nolan 'hopeful' as she speaks to woman who could be long lost sister

Coleen Nolan and her sister Maureen speak to a woman who could be their long lost sister the final episode of At Home With The Nolans.

The singing sisters reach out to a woman after a man gets in touch with Coleen claiming that he believes his mother is their sibling.

Maureen pushes forward with her project on finding their missing sister, explaining she’s “always been on [her] mind”.

“When I was younger I thought I had years to find her, but now I’m in my sixties and Anne is approaching 70, if we don’t find her now we might never find her,” she says.

The 66-year-old puts her DNA in a database to try and get a match with someone.

She says: “I know it’s science, but to me it does feel like a miracle, you know? Hopefully it will help find her, wherever she may be.”

But Loose Women star Coleen has her own information which could help them, as she teases: “I got a message on social media which could potentially change all of our lives.”

Their brother Tommy admits he might have actually met their lost sister years ago, but told her to “get shot” and “sling her hook”, thinking it was just a fan wanting to meet The Nolans.

Later, Maureen heads to Coleen’s Cheshire farmhouse and the television host explains a man messaged her on social media thinking his mother was their sister.

Coleen reads the message: “Her birth certificate has been defaced, but her father’s name on the birth certificate is Thomas Nolan. Mum has searched in vain for years for her biological father and mum’s even ordered a DNA test.”

They give her a call, as the man provided her phone number, and Coleen and Maureen are excited to speak to her.

The sisters say: “We’re all really excited and hopeful as well.”

The duo quiz the woman about a few things including when she found out her dad wasn’t her biological father and her job, with her saying she’s a nurse.

The ladies will get the DNA test results in the New Year, but end things on a positive note with the woman.

Coleen says: “It’s so great to speak to you, and I am really excited.

“As Maureen said, if the DNA proves we’re not [sisters] I think we’ve gained a really good friend.”

At Home With The Nolans concludes tonight at 10pm on Quest Red, and available to stream on discovery+
