EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed she is hosting a boot sale to make her mortgage after acting jobs dried up.
The 40-year-old, who played Mel in Albert Square back in 1998 and has returned on and off over the years, is now selling things she owns to make cash.
Tamzin’s character was killed off the BBC soap in 2019 and due to the coronavirus she said no new jobs are coming in.
Speaking on the Irregular B*tches podcast, Tamzin also revealed she is opening up a website to sell things she owns and also things she has made herself.

Tamzin said: “I’m in a situation at the moment where I’m starting to sell things.
“I’m about to set up a website for things that I’ve either created or bought and don’t need anymore. Home things, clothing.
“I just think this is going to be probably how I’m going to pay my mortgage and exist for a while, until our industry comes back.
“I’m not snobby or proud about what I do. I love a car boot sale, but everything is online.”

She continued by explaining her business mindset behind doing her boot sale online.
Tamzin added: “I’m thinking of ways of: ‘How do I do that now?’ I’m not proud. ‘Oh god, influencers make money, how do you go about doing that?
“I’m working out ways I could maybe do that.
“I’m in a decent situation. I can put my career on hold for a while and we will still eat.”
During her appearance on the podcast, she also revealed that due to how the industry has affected her finances this year it has put her off wanting her children to enter it.
Tamzin is mum to 12-year-old Florence and eight-year-old Marnie.
She explained that she is “worried” for their future and also for her musical theatre family.
The star also said some of her acting mates have picked up being delivery drivers during the pandemic.
