Grieving Syd Little has lit a moving “flame of hope” in memory of the showbiz pals he lost this year.
The TV legend, 78, wants to remember his Little and Large comedy sidekick Eddie Large.
The tribute is also in memory of other close mates Bobby Ball and Des O’Connor.
Syd said: “These have been simply the worst times imaginable.
“I look back to the start of the year and then see where we are now. There have been so many bad things that have struck us along the way.”
Straight man Syd is mourning the Covid death of Eddie, who died at the age of 78 in April.
Two months ago he was devastated by the passing of funnyman Bobby, 76. Then Showbiz pal Des O’Connor died at 88.
Syd, who lives with wife Sheree in Fleetwood, Lancs, said: “After Eddie passed on it just seemed like one bad thing was leading straight into the next.
“Losing Eddie is something I am doing my best to come to terms with. I will never ever forget him.
“When Bobby Ball died it was almost just too much to take in.
“And then there was Des.”
Syd said the candle would revive memories of other showbiz giants who have died this year including Barbara Windsor and Nicholas Parsons.
He added: “There are many of us just hoping next year will prove so different and so much happier and healthier.”
