BBC's Naga Munchetty shares snap of tissues as she admits she's been in tears

BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty may be one of the most recognisable faces on TV thanks to her role waking up the nation but she’s managed to keep her private life largely under wraps.

Unlike her ITV counterparts on Good Morning Britain, Naga has kept herself out of the daily headlines – letting Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid dominate the limelight.

But this week Naga, 45, gave a rare insight to her daily life away from the studio.

Taking to Twitter, the presenter, who hosts weekdays alongside Charlie Stayt, uploaded a snap from her living room alongside a short message for her 233,000 followers.

The starlet let slip that she had been left in tears over Gerrard Butler classic P.s. I Love You.

The 2007 film sees a terminally ill man write letters to be delivered to his wife after his death to give her hope and strength.

In her snap, Naga showed off a large glass of red wine and a box of tissues.

A glass of water and a face mask could also be seen on the side.

She captioned the shot: “Tonight’s film. P.s. I Love You.”

Naga later added she was planning on watching another sad film – this time 1998 Julia Roberts hit Stepmom.

She tweeted: “Glutton for a good sob… Now Stepmom.”

Like the rest of the UK, Naga is thought to have enjoyed an intimate Christmas.

The TV regular lives with her husband James Hagger and their three cats, Xena, Missy and Bella.

Naga and James tied the knot in 2007.

Speaking earlier this year, she explained they had made a decision to not have children.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Naga candidly said: “I remember when I told someone that I had decided I didn’t want children, someone told me I was wicked.

“Wicked against my mother for denying her grandchildren. It’s quite interesting, isn’t it, how people react?”

She continued: “I’m past the age now where people expect me to have children. But people can be quite forthright: ‘Oh, you can’t have them?’

“I think people find it unusual that both in the relationship have agreed or decided or come to the conclusion that they don’t want children.”
