TOWIE's Georgia Kousoulou says she broke down in tears during 20-week baby scan

Pregnant Georgia Kousoulou has revealed she broke down in tears at her 20-week baby scan on Tuesday.

The TOWIE star, 29, logged into her Instagram page to tell her fans that she felt “overwhelmed” when doctors told her she’d need to undergo diabetes testing after they noticed the unborn child’s larger-than-usual stomach.

Speaking about the hospital visit, she explained: ” “It was good but I did have a panic when they said to me the baby’s belly was slightly bigger than normal so now I have to go for a diabetic blood test.

“I don’t think I have it but they said just to make sure, any midwives out there watching can you please DM me because I don’t really know much about it.

“Everything else is fine, the baby is healthy – I just think I have got a big baby, I was quite big and I think Tommy [Mallet]was too.

“You know when you hear something and you’re like what and it freaked me out…”

Georgia, who is due to give birth to her and boyfriend Tommy’s first child in May, went on to admit that she blamed herself for her scare.

She added: “I literally cried because I panicked because I didn’t know what it meant, you know when you just get overwhelmed and you’re like what does that mean?

“It’s just scary being a first time mum, you literally don’t know anything, or I don’t anyway. Any little thing I’m like: ‘What does that mean? Is it what I’m eating? Have I caused this?’

“But they reassured me that its not what I caused, it can just happen in pregnancies, its quite common. And then I’ve researched it and placenta causes it, so that makes me feel better I don’t think it’s about me.”

She joked: “I’m sure the nurse was looking at me like ‘oh my god’ when I started crying, it got really awkward actually.”

TOWIE power couple Georgia and Tommy announced they were expecting during the Christmas special of the ITVBe reality show earlier this month.

The excited mum-to-be gave her 1.3 million Instagram followers the first glimpse of her bump as she posed in a velvet tracksuit over the weekend.

Tommy, 28, and Georgia have been together for six years, and are reportedly making a spin-off show about them preparing to become first-time parents.

An insider told The Sun: “Anyone worried that Georgia and Tommy will suddenly disappear from our screens now they are having a baby needn’t worry.

“As well as the special spin-off episodes they will also be staying on the main TOWIE show for some time to come.

“They’re two of its most popular characters so producers are delighted to have them stick around, especially when the two lovebirds become a family of three.”
