Paddy McGuinness compared to Bond villain as Big New Year's In fans mock hair

Paddy McGuinness was compared to a Bond villain as viewers of the BBC’s Big New Year’s In mocked the star’s bleach blond hair.

The 47-year-old TV host was presiding over celebrations of the end of 2020 on BBC One on Thursday night – alongside co-host Maya Jama.

The star appeared on the show with his traditionally dark hair dyed blond hair – drawing plenty of attention from viewers at home.

And with Paddy looking sharp in an all-in black suit and jumper, some viewers compared him to a big screen bad guy as they discussed the Take Me Out star’s new look.

One viewer tweeted: “@PaddyMcGuinness fancies himself as a 90’s Bond henchman @BBCOne #bignewyearsin.”

The fan shared an image of strapping German actor Götz Otto as Richard Stamper from the 1997 Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies.

Other fans highlighted that they too had dyed their hair during lockdown out of boredom.

A fellow bottle blonde commented on Twitter: “Glad to see the #COVID19 bleach hysteria has even reached @PaddyMcGuinness.”

While a further fan teased: “@PaddyMcGuinness lucky your already sorted with a decent other half because that hair do is a shocker.”

Paddy caused a stir back in April when he debuted his blond hair during the lockdown.

Sharing photos and videos at the time, Paddy compared himself to Eminem as he showed off his blond hair.

Uploading photos to Instagram, he wrote: “I’ve always thought about doing it but never had long enough off work, or the balls, to give it a whirl.”

He has been updating fans throughout the year by maintaining his blond look – frequently sharing videos of himself washing his hair on Instagram.
