Stella Tennant's cause of death confirmed as supermodel took her own life

Stella Tennant’s family confirmed in an emotional statement that the supermodel had taken her own life.

The family revealed that the former catwalk star had been unwell for sometime and that she’d “felt unable to go on” before her tragic death.

Just five days after celebrating her 50th birthday, the icon who had modelled for designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Versace, had been announced dead.

Her heartbroken family have since been overwhelmed and “humbled” by the flood of tribute and support following Stella’s death.

The emotional statement read: “We have been humbled by the outpouring of messages of sympathy and support since Stella died.

“She was a beautiful soul, adored by a close family and good friends, a sensitive and talented woman whose creativity, intelligence and humour touched so many.

“Stella had been unwell for some time.

“So it is a matter of our deepest sorrow and despair that she felt unable to go on, despite the love of those closest to her.”

The statement, which was posted by The Telegraph, concluded: “In grieving Stella’s loss, her family renews a heartfelt request that respect for their privacy should continue.”

On December 22, just three days before Christmas, Stella’s family delivered the devastating news that she had died.

They said: “It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of Stella Tennant on 22nd December 2020.

“Stella was a wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed.”

The statement concluded: “Her family ask for their privacy to be respected. Arrangements for a memorial service will be announced at a later date.”

It was later revealed by a police spokesperson that there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding her death.

Stella leaves behind her four children, who are all believed to be in their late teens and early twenties.

The Daily Mail reported that Stella had parted ways from long-term husband and French photographer David Lasnet last summer, following 21 years of marriage.

The couple who had four children together married in 1999 and announced their separation last year.
