X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan flashes abs in music video after dramatic weight loss

X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has kick-started 2021 with the release of the third single of her sixth studio album.

The 29-year-old singing sensation shows off her rippling abs and toned torso in the music video for her latest track Animal, which is out today.

In the footage, Lucy flaunts her dramatic body transformation in a tiny crop top as she works up a sweat in the boxing ring.

Speaking to Daily Star about her new single and music video, Lucy explained: “I do a lot of skipping, because I do a lot of working out and do a lot of weight lifting, and my favourite thing to skip to is Bollywood music.

“Bollywood music, bhangra music – we don’t have a Western rhythm like that.

“I was skipping and came in and just started writing that little guitar riff”

She added: “I wanted to show in the video that you can do whatever you want when you put your mind to it.”

The catchy track references cyberbullying, which Lucy has been faced with since she rose to prominence on The X Factor in 2012.

She said: “If someone wants to be derogatory, they often call you an animal.

“Call me a dog, call me a shark, I’ve been pushed far enough, I can be an animal if you want me to be one, I just won’t be a nice one.”

The singer has lost three and a half stone since giving up booze in 2019

Lucy has lost three and a half stone since quitting the booze and changing her lifestyle back in 2019.

She stunned fans in March last year when she revealed she’d dropped three dress sizes after overhauling her fitness regime and has gone on to showcase her new physique on social media.

“I actually didn’t just decide to do it,” she admitted.

“I gave up drinking in July 2019 and it just kind of happened.

“I’ve done the fad diets my whole life but the thing that worked is changing my whole lifestyle.

“I’ve never really given people the impression I cared what people think, but I used to care a lot about what people thought. I now actually don’t care.”

The singer-songwriter has been filling her Instagram grid with some bikini pics after shedding the pounds.

Discussing the sexy snaps, Lucy said: “I talk a lot about body positivity and people can perceive that as being full of yourself but whenever people don’t like it they move on and new people come.

“People seem to have a real problem with me putting pictures of my body online and honestly I probably felt like that when I was less confident and didn’t like myself very much.

“To me, it speaks volumes as I’ve been on both sides of the fence.

“I know what it’s like to feel jealous and uncomfortable about other people’s lives and I also know what it’s like to love my own life.”

She shared a topless snap with fans and is finally able to return to her fitness regime after a five-week break.

“I’m getting back into excising now after taking five weeks off to recover,” the singer explained.

“It’s the icing on the cake really and I really love them.

She added: “When I lost loads of weight my t*ts looks like Spaniel’s ears.”

Lucy, who is now in a relationship after splitting from her wife Georgina Gordon after three years of marriage in 2019, appeared on the ninth series of The X Factor nine years ago.

Since then, she’s released five studio albums and will drop her sixth record ‘Choices’ next month.

“People ask me questions about all aspects of my life and this album spells it out,” she teased.

“There’s songs about sobriety, my divorce and even my best friend.

“This is a no holds barred on this album.”

Lucy’s new single Animal is out today on Cooking Vinyl, taken from her forthcoming album Choices out on February 26th
