Lauren Goodger eyes up Loose Women panelist job to give 'young-ish take on life'

TOWIE babe Lauren Goodger is hoping to become a permanent panelist on Loose Women.

The reality TV star, 34, who sparked outrage after telling fans during an Instagram live session she won’t take the Covid vaccine if she is offered it, believes she would mix up the show and offer a younger perspective on topics after both Andrea McLean, 51, and Saira Khan, 50, bowed out of the daytime staple.

Lauren, who has appeared on Loose Women countless times during her decade in the spotlight, said: “I think they need it 100%.

“I am actually quite clued up on certain subjects and I have a lot to talk about. Family, relationships, mental health and body [image].

“I think they need someone young.

“I am not young but young-ish… and current to mix it up a bit.”

Most recently Lauren appeared on Loose Women in September when she spoke about living with anxiety and reminisced over her time on The Only Way Is Essex.

Lauren’s comments come just weeks after both Andrea and Saira left the hit daytime show after 13 years.

Speaking frankly about leaving the series, Andrea said: “Last year I had a nervous breakdown.

“What I felt is that this year, collectively, the world has had a breakdown.

“It made me stop and think, ‘What do I actually want?’ You get one life, are you living it the way that you want?”

On the day that the Prime Minister told the nation over a million people now have the deadly virus and that the death count has spiralled past 75,000, Lauren said in a now-deleted clip: “I am more scared of the vaccine than I am of the virus. I will start imagining that I am dying.

“I am terrified. I don’t like taking medicine. I don’t like taking antibiotics.

“OK, I do do aesthetics and even now I am still nervous of that – I am like that in general.

“Even with a facial, I want to know what is in it. That is my anxiety over the years.”

Explaining why she doesn’t want the vaccine despite it being endorsed by scientists and medical professionals, Lauren continued: “I just feel that it hasn’t been around long enough and we don’t know enough about it.

“I think I have had Covid and if I was to get ill I would treat it how I would treat it.

“I didn’t die from it. It is like getting it a cold. I wouldn’t get the flu jab either.

“I don’t want to inject myself with something I don’t know the longterm effects.

“I have heard all the different things that are in it and I think I have had Covid already and I have coped with it.”

Despite her long rant about the vaccine, Lauren was keen to stress she wasn’t telling her followers what to do.

“I am not going to say you should not have it. Each to their own. Good luck. That is my personal opinion though,” she added.

“At the end of the day, I am not going to talk about it as I know what I know.

“You can catch a cold, you can catch anything.”
