RuPaul's Drag Race UK queen has link to pop icon George Michael

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK queen Tayce has revealed all about her secret link to pop icon George Michael.

The talented drag queen, who joins 11 other performers for the new series of the RuPaul-fronted show, explained she’s inherited her dad’s love of music.

Speaking to Daily Star at a special Lunch with the Queens virtual date, Tayce said of her father: “He was the bass guitarist in Wham! so I was always constantly brought up around music.

“My dad was always jamming every day for a couple of hours, always playing music – soul music, R&B, hip hop – so I’ve always been constantly surrounded by music.”

The star, from Newport, Wales went on: “Even now in my daily life, there’s always music on no matter what I’m doing.

“If I could have music on right now I would.

“It just gives me all the life and energy I need.”

Tayce added: “I don’t know what I would do without some music, darling!”

The dancing diva is hoping to impress RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton alongside her 11 competitors.

Alan recently revealed that some of the queens took advantage of their unexpected time off and brushed up some of their skills.

He said: “You hope that in that break, they got to a sewing machine, they got the old needle out and everything, and I think when you come back, no spoilers, but there were some who’ve gone, ‘Right…’ They improved, they got better.”

The funny-man went on: “Some of them obviously thought, ‘Wow, OK, the standard is that good, I’m gonna do something about it.’

“So I was disappointed that some of them hadn’t done. But wow, the ones that had, mind blown.”

Joining the regular panel of judges will be the likes of actress Elizabeth Hurley, model Jourdan Dunn, actress Sheridan Smith, singer MNEK, presenter Lorraine Kelly, comedian Dawn French, presenter Maya Jama and singer Jessie Ware.

Meanwhile, reality television legend Gemma Collins will make a guest appearance, as will EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy.
