Katie Price 'given a kick up the a***' to rebuild life on SAS: Who Dares Wins

Katie Price was given a kick up the ‘a***’ after appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins, says show hard man Ollie Ollerton.

The star admits he thinks that while Katie, 42, didn’t last long on the show, it helped her rebuild her life.

Katie quit the Channel 4 series after reaching breaking point, leaving the other celebs taking part to fill in and pull together in her absence.

“I’d have loved it if Katie Price had stayed on a lot longer,” former Special Forces soldier Ollie admits.

“I think she would have got so much value from that show.

“It just so wasn’t the right time for her. I don’t think she realised where she was.”

Prior to appearing on SAS: Who Dares Wins, Katie had been through a turbulent few years.

Not only had her marriage to Kieran Hayler broken down, but she was held at gunpoint during a trip to South Africa and had a kidnap attempt on her disabled son Harvey Price.

Katie’s mum Amy was also diagnosed with a lifelong illness.

Ollie added to The Sun: “I think maybe just going through that process even if she wasn’t there for a long time has maybe given her a kick up the a**e.”

He went on to add that during the lead up to the brutal show participants often find the prospect of what to come mentally challenging .

While there is no denying the outdoor tasks themselves are excruciating, Ollie insists that the lead up “changes people”.

“It doesn’t matter if you come on and go on day one” he says.

“I reckon that really did contribute to that change in her.”

Since appearing on the show Katie has kept clean and sober after hitting rock bottom and checking into The Priory.

The mum-of-four is teetotal and even enjoyed a sober Christmas with her new man Carl Woods.

Speaking to Daily Star last November, the starlet insisted she is back and will never let herself fall into her own destructive ways.

Katie said: “I am back to me again.

“Since coming out of The Priory I am back to where I was 10 years ago. I am so focused.

“I don’t even drink. I can’t remember when I last had a drink. It’s honestly a new me.

“It is about time I had good luck. I am in control. I am doing what I want and I do it better when no one is telling me what to do. I will never hit rock bottom again, ever.

“I still speak to a therapist about the past and stuff but it will never ever happen again.”
