Tom Holland teases fans in pantless interview while promoting new movie

Tom Holland has certainly made the most of working from home while promoting the Apple TV Plus movie, Cherry, which sees him take a lead role.

The film – which is based on a true story – is set to be released on the streaming platform in just a matter of weeks, and sees Tom take on the role of an army medic who is suffering from PTSD.

His character, Cherry, later goes on and starts robbing banks in order to fund his opioid addiction.

Tom, 24, is no stranger to lead roles, previously playing Billy in the West End production of Billy Elliot as well as Captain America, Spiderman and Avengers: Endgame.

Many events across the world are being held virtually due to the ongoing pandemic, which has seen people only dress properly from the waist up – something Tom has been enjoying.

The Kingston upon Thames native appeared to be wearing a full suit as he posed in his family kitchen for the virtual interview but viewers at home would not have seen that he opted to ditch his pants, rocking just his underwear and a pair of white sports socks.

He was also dressed in a black blazer and white shirt, adding a touch of formality to his unknown relaxed dress code.

Taking to his Instagram account which boasts 40.6 million followers, the Hollywood star shared the snap alongside the caption: “Virtual press be like… It’s fashion.”

Speaking about getting into character for the role, Tom told Variety: “We were interviewing veterans who were suffering from PTSD and substance abuse and trying to seek help.

Tom is currently in the middle of filming his third Spiderman instalment

“The people at the end of their treatment who have made peace with their decisions and their mistakes were able to own it, they would tell us the stories and almost tell them proudly.”

Tom is currently in the process of filming the third Spiderman movie, following Spiderman: Homecoming and Spiderman: Far From Home which was released in 2019.

While Marvel is keeping tight-lipped as to who could be starring in the upcoming film, there have been rumours circulating that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could be getting ready to take part.

“I don’t know, if they are, they never told me,” Tom told Variety.

He went on to say: “We started before Christmas and shot for like seven weeks, we stopped for the Christmas break, and then we’re starting again, I’m just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.”

Cherry will be available to stream on Apple TV Plus on March 12.
