Emmerdale's Samson 'battling secret illness' as fans 'work out' Noah army twist

Emmerdale fans are fearing the worst for young Samson Dingle, convinced he is secretly battling a silent illness.

Noah Tate asked Samson for a sample of his urine, hoping to use it to con the army officials into giving him a bill of good health.

The teenager hopes to join the army but recently suffered a health scare – meaning his chances of getting recruited are at risk.

Noah was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis two years ago, which is a muscle injury which can cause organ failure and has continued to cause health issues over the years.

On Tuesday’s episode, Noah (Jack Downham) passed Samson, played by Sam Hall, an empty plastic bottle, giving him a stack of video games in exchange for carrying out the deed.

However, watching from home, viewers predicted the army medics would discover something sinister in Samson’s urine, fearing the worst.

One said: “What’s the betting they’ll find out Samson’s got something wrong with him!”

“Oh dear!!! Noah’s cheating the Army!! It’ll all end in tears, I tell ya! Tears!!!,” wrote a second.

And a third chimed: “Noah is talking a risk by asking Sampson for his urine sample.”

Samson is the son of Sam Dingle and the late Alice Dingle, who died tragically in 2006 after a devastating battle with cancer.

The teen hasn’t appeared in the soap for some time but made a welcome return to the dales this evening to join Noah in the Woolpack for some burgers.

Set to unfurl in the weeks to come, actor Sam previously opened up about Noah and Samson’s ploy to con the army medics in an interview with Metro.

He said: “I think it’s great to give the teenagers this storyline as it gives us a chance to film something different and show the younger people in the village.”

The teen actor went on: “Samson is fairly wary, because he doesn’t want to do the wrong thing. I wouldn’t say it’s about impressing him [Noah], they are cousins so he just wants to help his cousin get into the army.

“However, Samson is very worried when he realises Charity is onto them because he never thought she would find out and he’s worried about what she might do.”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
