This Morning was all about Holly Willoughby on Wednesday as she celebrated her 40th birthday.
Phillip Schofield planned a series of surprises and gifts for her co-star throughout the latest edition of the ITV daytime show.
Before she went on air, Holly logged onto her Instagram account to explain the touching reason behind her outfit choice.
The television presenter donned an eighties’ inspired floral peplum dress for the show with a pair of nude stilettos.
She went on to tell her followers that the dress belongs to her mother Linda, and it was the same outfit she wore on her 40th birthday.
Holly shared a collage on the photo-sharing site of her and her mum wearing the dress.

She penned alongside the adorable snap: “This photo of my Mum was taken on her 40th birthday at the party she had in the garden.
“I remember this day so clearly. It’s a strange thing to reach the age you remember your Mum being!
“I asked her if she’d kept the dress and of course she had… Strange moment zipping it up this morning, wondering how she felt on her big day.

Unsurprisingly, Holly’s latest Instagram grid update caught the attention of her 7million followers, with some leaving a message for the star in the comment section.
One fan gushed: “Ahhh love this Dress and the deeper meaning.”

After explaining to viewers that Wednesday’s show was all about celebrating Holly reaching the milestone birthday, Phillip presented Holly with a Colin the Caterpillar cake.
The 57-year-old ITV star then surprised his pal with a socially distanced beach party on set with chef James Martin and fashion guru Gok Wan in attendance.
Phillip then took Holly for a trip down memory lane where she brought up that she had a major crush on Paul Young.
The singer then appeared on the show via Zoom to wish Holly a happy birthday.
