Met Police are investigating a series of threats made to Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.
The threats, which were made via Instagram, warned Piers that he was “getting killed” and added he was a “marked man”.
A rep for the Met Police told Daily Star: “We have received a report of malicious communications relating to messages sent on social media. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Piers, who has helped aid the breakfast ITV show to record ratings alongside Susanna Reid, revealed a vile threat made to both him and his family earlier this week.

Alongside the image, Piers added to his followers: “Another day, another death threat… this one from someone using the name ‘stevienewcombe’ on Instagram.
“Anyone know who he is? Let’s see how big and tough he feels when I give him the exposure he deserves.”

“I’m also keen to hear what steps @instagram and @Facebook are taking to identify the person who made the death threats on their platform and has now deleted their account.”
He later added: “Well they’re definitely taking this seriously… they’re round my house now taking a statement.”
Piers recently boasted he believes his hard-hitting interviews on Good Morning Britain will soon help guide ITV beat rival BBC Breakfast by the end of 2021.
He told The Sun: “We have captured the zeitgeist and mood of the country a lot better than BBC Breakfast.
“I think it’s very likely we will overtake them in the ratings by the end of the year which will be an extraordinary achievement.
“You can see that there’s real movement now. They’re not moving, and we’re moving relentlessly upwards.”
Despite GMB gaining ground, live stream requests for BBC Breakfast are up 56% to 80million, accord to the BBC press office.
The programme’s average daily reach is 5.7million.
