Kate Garraway scolds Ben Shephard after his cheeky 'lip fillers' remark on GMB

Kate Garraway playfully told off her Good Morning Britain co-star Ben Shephard after his teasing remark about her ‘lip fillers’.

The 46-year-old GMB and Tipping Point star made the cheeky comment after the presenters discussed cosmetic surgery with singer and former TOWIE star Megan McKenna.

Megan, who recently released her new single This, opened up about how she used to edit her social media photographs to make her lips “look even bigger”.

The TOWIE star previously said on Loose Women that she decided to stop having lip fillers as she wanted to be taken more seriously.

Ben poked fun at his co-star Kate as he asked Megan: “I’m trying to help Kate, for people to take her more seriously…

“Is it something you’d recommend to her as well?

“Has it helped, do you think Megan?”

Kate and Megan went into hysterics as Ben clarified to Megan that he was teasing.

After the interview, Ben then jokingly said to Kate: “So, less lip filler”.

Kate laughed as she told her co-star: “Oh my god, what’s wrong with you today? Is it because you’ve got a big desk?

“You’ve gone all weird!”

Alex Beresford laughed: “That’s not the only thing!”

Kate said: “Everyones going to be saying I’ve had my lips done now.

“I really don’t need the controversy”.

Ben replied: “Methinks she protests too much…”

Kate and Ben are close friends and they regularly laugh together while hosting Good Morning Britain.

Last month, Kate left Ben in fits of giggles as she shared a heartfelt gesture to her milkman, but accidentally let slip a hilarious innuendo.

She told her co-host Ben Shephard: “Mick, my milkman, who has just been amazing.

“He has absolutely just kept me going because he’ll leave me little notes saying ‘do you need anything extra other than the milk?'”

She added: “I mean, like bread, butter or orange juice which he also supplies, he leaves a little smiley face.”

Ben couldn’t help but see the innuendo in the remark, as he burst out laughing, saying: “I bet he does! Are you still answering the door in your dressing gown and those fluffy slippers?”

Kate joked that she also wore a “shower cap” to answer the door, before continuing: “I tell you what, Mick, thank you. Shall we move on to other people’s messages now I’ve got myself in trouble? Even I didn’t see that one coming.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
