Funnyman Trevor Noah took to the stage to open the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in front of an A-Lit crowd as he prepared to host the star-studded event.
Gracing the stage at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, Trevor made reference to some of the turbulent issues of the past year, noting that music had played a key role in boosting the morale of people across the world during the pandemic.
Speaking from a tent in Los Angeles, Noah joked that the ceremony would be the “biggest outdoor event this year besides the storming of the Capitol”, which saw Donald Trump supporters storm inside the heart of American politics.

However, his most notable gag saw him take aim at The Royal Family who have become the centre of a worldwide media storm following bombshell revelations surrounding the Duchess of Sussex.
Last week, Meghan, 39, sat down for an unprecedented interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which, she revealed that during her time as a senior working royal, she had suicidal thoughts and also claimed members of the family had made racial comments.

While pointing to the A-list nominees, Trevor said that there is “more tension in that tent than at a family reunion at Buckingham Palace.”
He went on to say: “Tonight we’re hoping that this is all about what 2021 can be, full of joy, new beginnings and coming together.
“Never forgetting what happened in 2020 but full of hope for what is to come.”

However, nobody was off-limits as Trevor also went on to mock British singer Harry Styles, who was the first performer of the night, as well as being nominated for several awards.
Taking to the stage to perform his now Grammy award-winning single, Watermelon Sugar, Harry looked every inch the heartthrob as he donned a pair of skintight leather trousers, leaving little to the imagination.

He paired his leather pants with an open leather jacket, flaunting his impressive ripped torso and several tattoos, leaving fans swooning over his gym-honed physique.
Noting Harry’s nationality, Noah went on to joke that “the UK is diverse”, as Harry is known for his androgynous fashion sense and continuing to break down the gender barriers.
After winning his first Grammy award, Harry went on to thank those who worked on Watermelon Sugar before adding that he was “very honoured” to be recognised alongside his fellow nominees.
Harry is nominated for three awards, including Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video for his hit single, Adore You.
Other nominees at the event include Dua Lipa, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande.
