Bradley Walsh says he's never watched Doctor Who in The Chase throwback episode

Bradley Walsh revealed that he’d “never seen” Doctor Who in a throwback episode of The Chase which aired on Friday afternoon.

The clip from the ITV quiz show didn’t age well as the 61-year-old star went on to play a starring role in the sci-fi drama.

It first aired in 2017, the same year the BBC announced that he’d been cast as a companion, Graham O’Brien, in the eleventh series of the sci-fi drama.

Brad asked contestant Arthur: “Played by Bonnie Langford, who was the companion to both Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy’ Doctor’s in Doctor Who?”

The possible answers the player had to choose from were Tegan, Peri and Mel.

He opted for “Peri” and went on to tell Brad: “A total guess. I do not watch Doctor Who, I have absolutely no idea.”

Bradley added: “Me neither”.

The correct answer was, in fact, Mel.

Viewers at home rushed to their keyboards to discuss Bradley’s confession.

Taking to Twitter, one eagled-eyed fan penned: “Did Bradley just say he doesn’t watch Doctor Who?”

A second person posted: “I never watch Doctor Who’, ‘Me neither’ says future companion Bradley Walsh. Another The Chase repeat.”

Another social media shared the clip and wrote: “Made me laugh. @bbcdoctorwho #thechase @ITVChase #doctorwho.”

He asked contestant Bernadette: “Which suitably-named actress plays Pip Archer in the countryside radio drama The Archers?”

The giggling presenter had no problem reading out the first two answers of Heather Fox and Rose Squirrels but struggled to say Daisy Badger without laughing.

Bradley was left unable speechless again when the player opted to go for Daisy Badger as her answer.

Bernadette had no idea what the right answer was, and Bradley was convinced that she has got it wrong.

He explained: “It’s not going to be Daisy Badger, is it? It could be Heather Fox, one of the Fox family, like Emilia Fox, James Fox, one of them.”

However, the correct answer was eventually revealed as Daisy Badger, leading Brad to absolutely lose it when he realised.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm
