Kate Garraway’s documentary Finding Derek is airing tonight and already fans are in tears as she opened up on husband Derek Draper’s story after his Covid-19 battle.
The 53-year-old Good Morning Britain presenter appeared on the show to be interviewed herself for a change by co-stars Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid.
Kate has been busy documenting her hubby’s battle against coronavirus which he contracted last March.
In March 2020, Derek was rushed to hospital and not long after put into a medically-induced coma.
He awoke months later but has been in a state of limited consciousness ever since and can hold some form of conversation, says Kate.
After he was put in an induced coma, Kate stepped back from work to look after their kids as her husband fought the deadly virus and said on GMB today she would leave her career to care for Derek if need be.
As Kate spoke to Ben and Susanna about her husband, many viewers rushed to Twitter to share that the account had or was making them “cry”.
One tweeted: “Sat in tears watching #GMB This morning listening to Kate Garraway’s story with her husband.
“Immeasurable strength she has! Hope Derek gets better!”
Another said: “Sitting here watching Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain and I’m in tears.
“She is an absolute Titan. She’s never given up hope and her positivity just shines through.
“Keeping everything crossed for Derek. Sending love to all going through this or who have lost someone. #GMB.”
