Kristen Stewart has transformed into the late Princess Diana for another new snap as producers of the upcoming film Spencer teased excited moviegoers by releasing a new still.
The movie focuses on a pivotal three days at the Sandringham Estate over the Christmas period, a time when Diana was said to have made the decision to divorce Prince Charles.
It was also a move that set the Princess on a new course in her life, that would see her carve a place as one of the most beloved women in the history of the Royal family and the world.
Twilight actress Kristen, 30, was an unexpected choice for the role when it was first announced, but as new pictures gradually trickle out of the star in full hair and make-up, many have changed their minds.
The star’s normally dramatic hair is styled into Diana’s signature blonde cropped bob, and she wears a costume eerily similar to the late mum-of-two’s own clothing.
Donning a woollen 90s blazer and cream turtle neck, Kristen’s look was completed with the Royal’s dazzling engagement ring and oversized pearl earrings.
But perhaps the most shocking development is just how similar Kristen appears to the Princess in her mannerisms too, as she casually leans her face on her hand for the snap.
Gazing into the camera, the Happiest Season star has even managed to adopt Diana’s slight mouth-quirk she often did in photos – not quite a smile but eyes that certainly say a million things.
Filming on Spencer, which is directed by Jackie filmmaker Pablo Larrain, began in January on location in Germany.
Since then, the entire production has moved to the UK for the last of the shoot and the second picture of Kristen follows an iconic image of the star as Diana in a festive red coat and black hat combo.
Kristen appears to have completely embraced her new – and likely scene-stealing – role.
And if the buzz around Natalie Portman in the critically-acclaimed Jackie is anything to go by, the Twilight star could even be tipped for the Oscars.
Speaking about playing such an iconic role in her young career, Kristen told chat show host Jimmy Kimmel that she became “protective” over the princess.
“It’s hard not to feel protective over her. She was so young,” the actress explained.
“Everyone’s perspective is different, and there’s no way to get everything right, what is fact in relation to personal experience.”
“This is a really kind of poetic, really internalized imagining of maybe the heaviest three days’ time before she does something as gnarly as leaving the royal family,” Kristen later told Entertainment Tonight.
