Jordan Banjo has said that, following his dance troupe Diversity’s Black lives Matter routine on ITV talent show Britain’s Got Talent, his kids received “death threats”.
The Greatest Dancer presenter also had concrete poured over his car following the show.
The 28-year-old dancer shared some of the harrowing comments his family received from the horrible trolls.
Jordan’s children Cassius and Mimi are only two-years-old but some people sent messages saying they wished they would die.
The disgusting abuse continued as Jordan received a stream of vile messages on his social media accounts, and has suffered from death threats himself too.
As well as his expensive car being ruined, people have also tried to break into his house.
Jordan and brother Ashley Banjo, 32, delivered the emotional and poignant performance on BGT back in September.
But despite receiving huge praise from the panel of judges and plenty of fans, the routine also received 25,000 Ofcom complaints.
Speaking about the hate he’s received since, Jordan said: “When I’m sat at home and you’re telling me really horrible stuff like ‘your kids are so ugly, they should die’, ‘I hope your kids get caught in a house fire’, it’s crazy stuff, mad — especially since last year when we did that performance on BGT. From then, it was like a red rag to a bull.
“There were some people who had a genuine grievance with it and then some people, when this whole storm was kicking off, tried to antagonise you.
“I’m talking thousands upon thousands of messages,” the star continued in an appearance on The British Entrepreneur podcast.
“Even my car’s had cement thrown all over it, my Aston. It was crazy.”
The star added that he only lives on a “normal road” rather than a large fancy home, so it wasn’t difficult for members of the public to try and break in.
“There were times when I’ve been in my office — my garage is converted — and I came out and people are trying to climb out over my garden gate,” Jordan explained.
“It’s really weird how people react to stuff.”
Despite complaints to Ofcom, ITV released a statement following Diversity’s performance saying they continued to stand by them and the routine.
