Julia Roberts hit on Happy Mondays star Bez – but he turned her down.
As Daily Star reported yesterday, the Pretty Woman actress chatted Bez up in the Los Angeles upmarket Viper Room nightclub, but the Mancunian maraca player blew it by not recognising who she was, despite her impressive Hollywood career which has spanned decades.
Bez now claims he could have been living a “different life” as an LA A-lister had he taken her on a date.
However Roberts isn’t the only celeb to be turned down by another famous person.
Here, Natasha Wynarczyk takes a look at some of the other potential celeb couples who didn’t quite make it…
Nicole Kidman and Jimmy Fallon
The Aussie actress was ignored by US talk show host Jimmy Fallon after the pair were introduced by a mutual friend. Kidman thought she was going to Fallon’s apartment for a business meeting, but it turned out to be a blind date that didn’t go anywhere.
In 2015, Kidman appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and told him “I just remember I liked you” – talk about awkward…
Aziz Ansari and Blake Lively
Comedian Ansari claims that he was ghosted by Blake Lively back in 2011. When the Master Of None star appeared on The Howard Stern Show, he said they switched numbers after hitting it off at an event – but a series of text messages he sent her went unanswered.
Lively went on to get hitched to Ryan Reynolds a year later.
Emma Watson and Tom Felton
Emma Watson: As a teen playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film franchise, Watson had a crush on Tom Felton, who starred as Harry Potter’s nemesis Draco Malfoy.
“I had a really big crush on him, to the extent that I would go into work in the morning and look at the call sheet to see if he was going to be in,” she recalls.
However, it wasn’t reciprocated, with Felton saying he saw Watson is a “younger, sisterly way”.
Taylor Swift and Bradley Cooper
After Swift asked actress pal Jennifer Lawrence to introduce her to Bradley Cooper at a Golden Globes party in 2013, she was cruelly rebuffed by Cooper.
He told a reporter “I could literally be her father”. There’s a 15-year age gap between Swift and Cooper – but the actor wasn’t so bothered by age differences when he dated 20-year-old Suki Waterhouse at the age of 37.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Cara Delevingne
DiCaprio has dated several models – but not all of them fall at his feet. In 2013, he reportedly hit on Brit model Cara Delevingne at a Cannes Film Festival afterparty, but she was having none of it.
According to a source “he tried every trick in the book and apparently kept lunging for her but she kept dodging them… she thought he was too forward and too old.”
Drake and Nicki Minaj
The rapper was once good friends with Nicki Minaj, and wanted to take their friendship to another level.
However, in 2010 he claimed she had just used him to get food, telling MTV that he’d offered to get a takeaway from a deli for her so they could eat it together, but when he arrived at her house she took the meal “and shut the door in my face”.
Drake later said he felt Minaj had always looked at him like he was “her little brother”.
