Nadine Coyle has brought viewers to tears when she appeared to reference bandmate Sarah Harding’s cancer battle on The Great Celebrity Bake Off.
Sarah bravely shared her diagnosis last year and has said that she doesn’t expect to see another Christmas.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer which later spread around her body but recently announced the tumours in her brain and lung had shrunk thanks to treatment.
Nadine took part in the Bake Off special to help raise money and awareness for Stand Up The Cancer.
Host Matt Lucas asked her about her motivations for coming on the show and Nadine explained that she had a close friend who was fighting the disease.

On the importance of raising money, she told Matt: “I have a very close friend at the minute who is suffering from cancer.
“It’s terrifying, you look at the statistics and the more research there is and the more money and funding there is to do that the better people’s odds are.
“You never know when the next big breakthrough is going to happen. And hopefully very soon.”

While Nadine did not name the friend fans quickly took to Twitter to share their belief that it was Sarah whom she was referring to.
They praised Nadine on her openness and confessed they had been moved by the scene.
