Good Morning Britain weather expert Lucy Verasamy is committing this springtime to the Great Outdoors, filming an interview series with Britain’s farmers and growers.
As part of the series, which has been commissioned by Marks and Spencer, the meteorologist, 40, teamed up with foodie Chris Baber to try out some seasonal recipes.
After a day of filming on Wednesday, Lucy and Chris posed for a snap outside the Marks and Spencer food van, soaking up the sunshine.
Lucy worked a pair of fitted blue jeans and a nautical striped jumper, fending off the sun’s glare with some tinted Ray-Ban shades.
A pair of chic black wellington boots topped off the outfit, proving both stylish and functional as they filmed in a massive field.
Chris, who added the caption “behind the scenes today” to the snap, similarly worked jeans and wellies, throwing a cropped jacket on top for good measure.
Lucy previously worked alongside Marks and Spencer to film the documentary-style adverts two years ago, with the 19-part series airing in the months to come.
Titled Fresh Market Update, the series has been produced in collaboration with Lucy’s home network – ITV.
Plugging the project earlier this month, Lucy said: “Over the next few months I’ll be travelling the length and breadth of the British Isles from the north of Scotland, right down to Jersey, meeting the farmers and the growers of M&S fresh food, with one question on my mind… why do M&S believe that their food is not just any food?”
Chef Chris will be preparing the recipes in the series, using Marks and Spencer ingredients to whip up some light and summery dishes.
A teaser clip from production, shared to his Instagram, sees the Northumberland-born culinary whizz prepare some Scottish salmon with a Dukkah-crust.
Chuffed to be part of the promotional project, he told fans: “Stay tuned over the coming weeks to see what I’m cooking up on my journey from the north of Scotland to Jersey meeting the amazing farmers and producers behind M&S food.”
Chris discovered a love for cooking in childhood, preparing meals for his mum and dad in his hometown of Hexham.
When he left home, he landed a gig with Atul Kochhar at his Michelin-starred restaurant, eventually breaking out on his own as a chef.
