Phillip Schofield made a very cheeky remark regarding Piers Morgan being unemployed after leaving his gig hosting Good Morning Britain.
The 59-year-old made the comment during the latest episode of This Morning as he presented beside his temporary co-host Rochelle Humes while Holly Willoughby is off.
It came as the pair spoke Sam Rubin in Los Angeles about headlines and current affairs and the conversation quickly turned to Piers latest drama and feud with US singer Demi Lovato.
Piers, 56, bizarrely chose to use his voice on MailOnline in his latest column blasting Demi after she called out an independent yoghurt company for selling “diet” items.
After Sam updated viewers on the feud, Phillip cheekily said: “We know that Piers Morgan waded in so it must be serious…”
The star then sarcastically added: “He’s got a lot of time on his hands to write about yoghurt!” before laughing with mum-of-three Rochelle.
Some ITV viewers were appalled by Phillip’s dig and rushed to Twitter to vent about it.
One Piers fan wrote: “Wow that was a b**chy comment from phil #ThisMorning.”
Another tweeted: “Phil b**ching about Morgan. I’m sure you had him on the show, nice and fluffy interview and lunch afterwards. #ThisMorning.”
Back in March after Piers left Holly and Phil did not address it on This Morning.
However, back in February Phillip did rush to defend presenter Beverley Turner during a chat on This Morning.
Beverley hit the headlines earlier this month when she said she refused to clap for Captain Sir Tom Moore following his death.
Beverley had tweeted: “#SirTomMoore and his family did a brilliant job of raising £ for the NHS. It’s great that he lived to 100! It’s awesome that he got one last fab holiday.
“But I’m not clapping in the St to maintain the fear that imminent death is all around & we’re all in this together. We’re not.”
Piers, 55, shared the tweet, adding: “This is so pathetic,” and Beverley later revealed that Piers had blocked her.

After Beverly kept saying a “certain TV presenter”, picking up on it being Piers, Phillip hit back.
He said: “I’m sure he would like to be here to defend himself because it wasn’t just one person, there was a wave of people who may have misunderstood and may have waded in, but he was only one of them.”
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am.
