RuPaul’s Drag Race star A’Whora has recreated Liz Hurley’s iconic safety pin dress from Versace.
Wildcat Gin – who are launching their fabulous new Limelight flavour – polled the nation to find out what the public thought was the best limelight-stealing red-carpet moment.
Topping the poll was Liz’s iconic Versace dress which she wore to the Four Weddings and a Funeral premiere in 1994.
The star appeared as a guest of her then-boyfriend Hugh Grant and was the talk of all the papers the next day, catapulting her to become a household name.
In 2019 Hugh revealed that Liz had been snubbed by other designers, leading to the fashion masterpiece moment.

The showstopper dress beat out competition from the likes of JLo’s plunging green dress from the 2000 Grammy awards and Bjork’s iconic swan dress from the 2001 Oscars.
Drag Race UK star and fashion school graduate A’Whora said: “Liz Hurley is an icon and a legend, just like me! And this dress is as iconic as her. I’ve been compared to Liz myself, so I’ve loved recreating this look with Wildcat to give her a run for her money.”
They added: “Who wore it best?”
A’Whora, who recently signed with Elite Model management, said: “My top tip to stealing the limelight is to always go for the unexpected, any idea you come up with first, scrap it!
“Think of another 10 ideas, then another, then another! Your last idea, that’s the one, because no one will have thought of it first. That’s how you make an impression.”

The recreation of Liz Hurley’s dress will be going on auction next month to raise funds for Not A Phase, a charity supporting the lives of trans+ adults across the UK.
