EastEnders cast member Shona McGarty was reportedly left scared and called police after a man reportedly “bombarded her with messages” on social media and “repeatedly called her”.
The 29-year-old Whitney Dean actress is understood to have blocked the man before calling cops.
Shona had reportedly previously agreed to a livestream chat with Dan Dempsey, 34, on TikTok in a bid to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
It is alleged that Dempsey then sent Shona a string of messages and called her repeatedly.
Speaking to The Sun, Dempsey said he had messaged Shona but it was just to find out “why she blocked me”.
He said: “I didn’t know she felt harassed – she didn’t tell me to stop messaging her.”
Dempsey was arrested on suspicion of harassment last Friday and bailed until May.
He claimed to The Sun that his bail conditions prevent him from going to the EastEnders set or to Shona’s home.
Daily Star has contacted Shona’s spokesman for comment.
Shona is currently single after splitting from her electrician fiancé Ryan Harris in January of this year.
Shona joined EastEnders in 2009 as Bianca Jackson’s former step-daughter.
This week horrified viewers watched as Whitney’s boyfriend Kush Kazemi was killed by evil serial killer Gray Atkins.
Her character Whitney has been at the centre of many huge storylines during her time in Walford.
Whitney has experienced harassment on screen when she was stalked by Leo, the son of her former abuser.
EastEnders fans will remember Whitney stabbing her stalker to death after she found him hiding out in the attic of her home.
