Lorraine fans baffled by Royal snapper's odd collection after spotting backdrop

Lorraine Kelly was joined by Royal photographer Arthur Edwards on Thursday’s show, marking Prince William’s 10 year wedding anniversary with his wife Kate Middleton.

Weighing in on their marriage, photographer Arthur, 80, who has frequently photographed them over the years, praised Kate’s own talent for photography.

However, as Arthur mused over his many experiences with the Royal couple, viewers watching from home were more distracted by his backdrop.

Arthur sat in a room that was filled wall-to-wall with breathtaking china plates and bowls, each stacked in a shelving unit and displayed in rows.

In one section, Arthur had traditional patterned china dishes in the blue willow style, whereas other plates were tinted in pastel shades of pink and green.

Watching the interview play out, viewers took to Twitter to exclaim over the collection, which filled his backdrop from side to side.

One penned: “All that crockery behind Arthur is making me feel stressed at keeping it clean, you’d be forever dusting it all.”

“I have the urge to sort out this man’s shelves #lorraine,” added a second.

While a third exclaimed over his impressive collection of antiques, wondering: “Is this guy in a charity shop?”

Arthur is the official Royal photographer for The Sun and has been documenting the monarchy since the 70s, touring with the family around the globe.

Recent years have seen Kate share her own photos of her family, releasing heartwarming snapshots of the couple’s three children each year.

Kate first curbed tradition in 2015, when she released images of Princess Charlotte soon after her birth, with her brother George cradling her in his arms.

Arthur, who agreed Kate was a skilled photographer, went on to praise the Duchess’ many talents, branding the St Andrews graduate as “superb”.

“She’s just complete this girl. She’s just so elegant, she’s just so charming,” he said.

“She’s so pleasant to everybody. She’s a great sportsman, great competitor. Never wants William to beat her.

“Whether they’re playing drag boat racing, whether they’re playing cricket, when we were in Ireland last year when they were hurling and Gaelic football, she just gives it her best shot and she’s just superb.”

Lorraine airs on weekdays at 9am on ITV.
