Emmerdale actress Charley Webb has described her “agony” after she revealed she got involved in a motorway car accident.
Ironically, the 33-year-old was on her way to a chiropractor appointment when the incident occurred.
Charley revealed that a car slammed into the back of her vehicle while she was stuck in standstill traffic, leaving her lower back in “so much pain”.
She also expressed how relieved she was that none of her children were in the car, especially her son Ace, who is not yet two.
Charley also has two other children, Buster, ten, and Bowie, four, with her co-star husband Matthew Wolfenden.
Taking to Instagram, she said: “I’m in agony. It must just be like the adrenaline at the time you don’t realise and I don’t understand quite why it’s as bad as what it is but, oh my word, it’s so painful.”
Charley stressed that the girl whose car ran into hers was “really apologetic” but added: “I was still, there had been a traffic jam and the girl was really apologetic, bless her, but I’d been stationary for quite a while so she obviously wasn’t concentrating or watching where she was going because she came right into the back of me.”
But while the impact wasn’t huge, Charley said she was still hurt.
She added: “Luckily I didn’t have Ace in the car, because that would have been a different story.
“The car obviously was hit quite hard but I’ve got quite a big car so it doesn’t show huge marks, but her bumper was definitely damaged.”
Charley, who is married to her Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden, 41, recently confided that she was nervous about her sons getting their hair cut – as she liked their locks long.
Charley joked: “The hairdressers are one of the most stressful places I have to go to with the kids in my life because I really struggle with it and the hairdressers always get really stressed as I’m like ‘don’t don’t, not too much, don’t cut there, ooh, that’s too short.’
“They hate me – I’d hate me.”
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
