Corrie Alan Halsall and Tisha Merry's romance from co-star ex spat to baby plan

Alan Halsall’s real life might not be quite as dramatic as his Coronation Street character Tyrone Dobbs’, but he’s definitely had his fair share of excitement.

Brought up in Walkden, Salford, Alan has always been a Manchester local – long before he first appeared on the Street.

Currently cosied up with his girlfriend and former co-star Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton on the cobbles, Alan’s home life is a far cry from the house Tyrone used to share with ex Fiz Stape.

And the pair are even looking forward to the future, and hoping to have a baby together.

It would be Alan’s second child, as he already shares a six-year-old daughter, Sienna-Rae, with his ex-wife.

From his lavish pad to spats with his co-star ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson, we take a deep dive inside Alan and Tisha’s life together.

Lavish life

Corrie couple Alan and Tisha moved in together in late 2019, with Tisha moving into the £750k home he shared previously with ex-wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.

The gorgeous property is stuffed full of luxury furniture, including a stunning mustard couch with matching pouffe, combined with chic grey carpeting in one of the back lounges which looks out onto a lush garden.

The lovebirds even set up a giant paddling pool during the lockdown period outside for Sienna-Rae to enjoy, posting a snap to Tisha’s Instagram account of the trio posing with pool inflatables.

She captioned the snap: “Garden vacay”.

But that isn’t all – the front of the house is just as grand as the interior. At Christmas, the family decorated the porch with low-key golden lights and illuminated reindeer – and Alan’s new Mercedes convertible usually sits proudly in the driveway.

Posting the pic, Alan wrote: “You can’t buy happiness but… you can buy a new car and that’s kind of the same thing.”

Elsewhere in the house, Tisha has showcased the master bedroom on her YouTube channel, showing off a brown upholstered headboard adorned with fairy-lights and a plush mattress.

Co-star exes

Alan married his former co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson back in 2009, but they divorced in 2018.

Lucy-Jo appeared as Katy Harris in Coronation Street from 2002 until 2005, and met Alan on set, where he had been working since 1998.

She gave birth to Sienna-Rae in September 2013, but just three years later in 2016 the couple announced they were splitting.

However, they managed to briefly rekindle their relationship a few weeks later for a short period, until Lucy-Jo announced they were in the process of divorcing in 2018.

Alan appeared to take a swipe at Lucy-Jo on social media, after her new beau Lewis Devine referred to Sienna-Rae as his own daughter.

In a quickly deleted post, Alan said: “You’re welcome to keep the lying cheating one & call her your own! But not my daughter!”

Speaking to OK! about the incident, Lucy-Jo shared: “I had literally just given birth to Carter [with Lewis] when he posted that so I didn’t see it and my head was elsewhere. He quickly deleted it so he must have regretted it.

“I didn’t bother bringing it up with him. Lew and I were both too focused on Carter so it just didn’t get our attention.”

But Alan appeared to imply that he didn’t regret the move at all, posting a snap of the sunset to his Instagram story with the caption: “No regrets.”

Future family

Tisha says Alan is “such a good dad”

The pair have shared that they do want to start a family together in future, with Tisha commenting that Alan makes “such a good dad”.

“He’ll be so amazing,” she told OK! “When we were still friends, I got asked to babysit and asked Alan to come along. We got there and it was just Alan babysitting.

“He’s such a good dad; he’s so caring and loving. He notices everything and his communication with Sienna is so strong. I would love that for our child if we have one.”

Alan managed to prank his fans with a cheeky ultrasound snap of… his liver.

But followers were convinced the couple were about to announce the news they were expecting their first child together.

Captioning the post on his Instagram, Alan wrote: “Totally unexpected and we’ve not told anyone, didn’t want to shout it to the world at first until it was confirmed.

“We can now share this wonderful news with you all and we’re very proud to announce … this is a scan of my liver in perfect condition, ready for when the pubs re-open…….”

Alan and Tisha “howled” with laughter after realising fans simply hadn’t read the post and assumed Tisha was pregnant.

Social stars

Since starting up her YouTube channel in 2019, Tisha hasn’t been afraid to share parts of her life with her loyal subscribers.

With a devoted audience of nearly 10,000 people, Tisha regularly features Alan on her channel and shares parts of their life together.

She shared a sweet clip of them taking a lockdown walk in the park together back in January, and coaxed Alan into a ‘Boyfriend does my Makeup’ challenge video last year.

“I’ve got an amazing canvas to work on, my beautiful girlfriend,” Alan tells the camera as he smears primer across Tisha’s face. “Who actually needs no makeup whatsoever.”

They also played a game of Who’s Most Likely To on Valentine’s Day, with both of them insisting the other would definitely die first in the event of a zombie apocalypse.

“If I chase you up the stairs, you just crumble to the floor instead of running away!” he joked as the pair collapsed into giggles. “If a zombie was coming after you, you’d go ‘Al! There’s a zombie coming, could you get it?’”

Body transformations

Alan has come a long way from the young lad he was when he first appeared in Corrie.

The hunky dad has been hitting the gym religiously, and even has a treadmill to continue the workouts at home.

He’s also been seen hitting the rowing machines in the past along with co-stars Colson Smith (Craig Tinker) and Sam Aston (Chesney Brown).

And it appears Alan also has a passion for hot yoga, and has said the exercise helped him bond with Tisha when they went to the same studio together.

Co-star Samia Longchambon, who plays Maria Connor on the cobbles, posted a barely recognisable snap of the pair together when they first appeared on the Street together – and it’s clear how much they’ve both changed.

“Happy birthday @alanhalsall,” she wrote in a 2020 post. “My funniest friend for 27 years… how did we get this old so fast!!”
