Inside Emmerdale star Danny Miller’s whirlwind romance with partner Steph Jones

Danny Miller is engaged to his girlfriend, and the couple are expecting their first baby.

Emmerdale star Danny announced the good news alongside his now-fiancee Steph Jones in an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine.

They spoke candidly about their fertility issues and Danny’s romantic proposal whilst on holiday in St Lucia.

The star, who plays Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap, revealed he popped the question earlier this year over a romantic candle light beach dinner on the paradise isle in the Caribbean.

The couple met in primary school, but didn’t actually get together until 2019.

He wrote: “We all show off our best moments on socials, never do we share the worst moments. But this girl has shared and carried some of the lowest points of my life over the last few months.

“A bloody good partner, daughter, sister, auntie but most importantly a true friend. A light at the end of a very dark tunnel for me.”

The couple have spent lockdown together with Danny’s sister and her kids, as well as their adorable cavapoos Gini and Kenny.

In their OK! interview, Danny and Steph said they are thrilled to be expecting and had actually been gearing themselves up to start IVF treatment.

Steph explained that they had been trying to conceive for over a year and that they had had numerous negative pregnancy tests and were “stunned” when the result came back positive.

On finding out that the couple conceived naturally Danny, 30, revealed that “it’s been amazing, we’ve had a lot of time to process it so it’s finally sunk in now”, while girlfriend Steph added, “it was a massive surprise because emotionally we’d been psyching ourselves up for IVF”.

Danny said that the couple feel “incredibly lucky” and humbled” by their good news, knowing that many do not have a similar experience.

The actor revealed that he learned that he was to become a dad while filming Emmerdale’s barn explosion storyline.

“When I saw how many times she had rang me I had a feeling, I thought, either she is pregnant or something is seriously wrong, So I rang Steph and she was laughing but crying and I just knew.

“We were told that we wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally and had started proceedings for IVF and had just seen the consultant the day before. I was in complete shock. I started crying, it’s making me emotional to think about it now. I bought another pregnancy test on the way home, not that she had to prove it, but I just wanted that moment for us.”

Since confirming their pregnancy, the couple have decided to put the wedding on hold with Danny’s wish to have the new addition at the wedding as well. “We didn’t expect we would have a baby so soon”.

He added: “We’ve always been a fan of getting married abroad and having the sun, sea, and sand with us and both our families.

“It would be amazing we waited until they could walk because they could be stood up with me or walk down the aisle with Steph.”
