Emmerdale’s Lydia and Sam are going through a horrendous time in the village and on Tuesday evening their home was attacked when a brick was thrown through their window.
At the very start of the programme, Emmerdale fans were shocked by the startling scenes and were upset that Lydia was going through such a terrible time.
That said – many fans on Twitter were also perplexed that the perpetrator who threw the brick managed to get away so quickly.
Taking to Twitter one fan said: “So a farm in the middle of nowhere & someone throws a brick through the window, Sam runs out, no one to be seen. Not a soul. Where the f*** have they gone?”
While another joked: “Blimey, whoever threw the brick can run like lightning.”
A third confused fan questioned: “How did a stone come through the window and the guys legged it before you got out of the door?”
Later on in the programme, the drama did not stop there for Lydia, as she was approached by a pair of thugs who began to physically harass her.
After convincing Sam and his son Samson that she would be fine to stay in the home by herself, Lydia decided to quickly pop out.
However, two young muggers decided to make her life a misery and robbed her right outside her front door.
Fans believed the lads may have been the culprits behind the brick that was thrown through the window at the start of the show, as they set out to seek revenge over the pension scam that Lydia is being wrongfully accused of.
Though Lydia wants to avoid sorting out her troubles the “Dingle way” it looks like Samson may have other ideas.
At the end of the episode, Samson makes a phone call to an unknown person which suggests to viewers that he might try to take matters into his own hands, in a violent way.
Will it all work out in the end?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
