Holby City fans were left in a frenzy on Tuesday, after they seemed to recognise a new doctor who is a familiar face in the soap world.
Treve Harding, played by British actor Karl Collins, made an explosive entrance on Tuesday night’s episode as Max McGerry’s old flame.
However, fans were more concerned with where they recognised the actor from, and took to Twitter to air their views.
One fan said: “That new doctor is Louis Loveday off Hollyoaks.”
While another chimed: “I can’t get my head around Danny Glaze in #HolbyCity #TheBill.”
A third Holby fan said: “Louis Loveday has gone up in the world.”
“He’s from The Bill!” A third viewer exclaimed.
While another fan couldn’t help but mention how they liked the new dishy doc’s style: “Newbie alert, am liking his style.”
Actor Karl Collins has starred in several popular British soaps and dramas over the years and played Louis Loveday in Hollyoaks from 2015 to 2019.
Between 1991 to 2003, Karl played the character DC Danny Glaze in ITV’s police drama, The Bill.
But these programmes are not the only soaps Karl has appeared in, as he’s also starred in EastEnders, Silent Witness, Doctor Who and Death in Paradise, to name a few.
Not only this, but the actor has also popped up in Holby City previously before in 2004 and again in 2012.
He’s also appeared in Casualty, playing different characters.
On Tuesday night’s episode of Holby, doctor Max was happy to see her old friend Treve once again.
As Max is going through a tough time with her breast cancer diagnosis, Treve appeared to give her advice on what she should do next.
After experiencing an immensely pressurising day, Max is tempted to turn to alcohol to drown her sorrows, but she quickly comes to her senses and goes to meet Treve.
After much confusion, Max agrees that she will undergo surgery for her cancer, but she informs Treve that she will only go ahead with the procedure if he performs it.
Holby City is on BBC One on Tuesdays, 7:50pm.
