Emmerdale's Luke 'killed brother Lee' as fans figure out Robert return twist

Emmerdale fans are predicting Robert Sugden might be about to return to the village after Luke Posner shared something devastating about his relationship with his brother.

Opening up to his mum Wendy, Luke (Max Parker) admitted Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) beat him up after he learned he was in a relationship with a man, punching him in a horrific homophobic assault.

Luke then admitted he retaliated, hitting Lee until he fell unconscious – though he eventually woke up again and threatened him for a final time.

Victoria Sugden had been raped by Lee in traumatic previous scenes, leaving her brother Robert determined to exact revenge.

Robert found Lee and attacked him, but the assault – coupled with the earlier knock from Luke – left him lifeless in a hospital bed.

Lee died in hospital after the attack, and Robert, played by actor Ryan Hawley, was sent to prison, eventually leading to the destruction of his marriage with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).

Watching from home this evening, Emmerdale fans have predicted Luke is actually responsible for Lee’s murder – meaning Robert could be released from prison.

One Twitter user wrote: “Luke killed Lee in prison as vengeance for him being a homophobic rapist! Calling it now! This means Robert could be in the clear for the murder! #Emmerdale.”

“Did Luke kill Lee then? Wtf I’m so confused man surely Ryan isn’t returning? #Emmerdale,” added a second.

And a third penned: “Luke I’ll forgive you for being a creepy stalker if you killed Lee and that gets Robert out of prison. #Emmerdale.”

Luke bravely opened up about the harrowing ordeal when speaking to his mother

Wendy Posner confronted Luke when she learned he was moving in with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins), begging him to speak openly with her about his bisexuality.

Luke then revealed he ended his relationship with the man he loved after Lee violently assaulted him, accusing him of bringing shame on their family.

Recalling coming out to his brother, Luke said: “He just stood there. Didn’t say anything. Then he grabbed me by the throat.”

“Told me that my dad would be ashamed of me. That I deserved to have a beating,” Luke went on, describing the ordeal with tears in his eyes.

He went on: “I shoved him. And he fell. He smacked his head on the step. And he just lay there unconscious. And I thought he was dead. Then he opened his eyes. And tried to punch me again. Started spitting more hate. So I lied. Told him I’d call the police.”

The next time Luke saw his brother, Lee was lying in a hospital bed on life support, as he recalled: “The last thing my brother said to me was how much he hated me, that I was dead to him. All because of who id fallen in love with.”

Wendy realised Luke may have had a part to play in Lee’s murder, as she pleaded with him to come clean to Victoria.

If Luke confesses, is there a chance Robert might get released from prison?
