A Place in the Sun's Ben Hillman snaps at 'show off' duo with huge TV and fridge

A Place on the Sun property expert Ben Hillman hit back at a couple who kept “showing off” as he took them around villas in Spain.

In Friday’s episode (June 4) Ben was with Lee and Allison from Kent who were hoping to find their “dream home” in Albox in Almeria with a budget of £150,000.

The couple seemed to take the opportunity to point out at various moments that the things they owned were very large, such as when Ben asked what they thought of a living room.

Lee replied: “We might have a problem with the TV, we’ve got a 65 inch.”

“Stop showing off,” Ben said with a laugh.

In another property with a fitted kitchen, they said the space for the refrigerator was far too small.

“We’ve got an American,” said Alison.

Meanwhile, at another property Alison complained that their bed wouldn’t fit in any of the double bedrooms.

Alison said: “It’s way, way, way too small.

“I’m sure it’s the perfect house for someone but for us, our family is too large – extended with the grandkids, the dogs – we wouldn’t fit our bed even in one of those rooms it’s way, way too small.”

Ben even managed to rustle up a modern castle for the couple to look at and it even had its own turret and crenellated roof terrace.

Although they liked the idea of being able to tell their mates they lived in a castle, Lee and Alison again argued the fort was just “too small” for their needs.

Lee told Ben: “It is so impressive, it is so much fun, but it’s a little bit smaller than what we’d like.”

He replied: “You’re not to be able to tell your friends you live in a castle now! Oh gosh, where do we go from here? I think we have seen a bit of everything.”
