Bradley Walsh told to 'shut up' by Romesh Ranganathan after he heckles him

Romesh Ranganathan, 43, and Bradley Walsh, 61, were two of the six stars all hoping to win the first award of the night.

The duo were both up for Best Entertainment Performance alongside Adam Hills, Claudia Winkleman, Graham Norton and David Mitchell.

The award was presented by Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar, who got proceedings underway.

Adrian announced Romesh had won the award for his performance in his hugely popular show The Ranganation.

But before he got up onto the stage, Bradley could be seen making a cheeky dig after failing to pick up the gong.

He lowered his mask for the camera and mouthed: “I don’t believe it,” as he shook his head.

Romesh walked up to collect his award but that wasn’t the end of the banter between the funny pair.

But it was clearly a bit of light-hearted fun as Bradley could be seen cheering Romesh on.

“Oh wow,” Romesh said, with Bradley heckling the comedian, shouting: “It’s a farce!”

“Yeah, shut up Bradley,” he replied with the ITV teatime host laughing off his comment.

Getting on with his speech, Romesh declared: “I really didn’t expect to win – I mean there’s a good chance…”

He went on to explain how he actually felt he’d put in less effort for the latest series for his award-winning programme.

Romesh explained: “It’s amazing, it was much easier me to do the show this series because I just had to do it from my garage.”

“In many ways I feel I’ve put in less effort and got more reward,

“That’s what life’s like in showbiz but thank you so much…”

He concluded: “I love this show to win an award for it is an incredible honour, so thank you very much.”

Not being one to let the opportunity for a joke slip, Bradley couldn’t resist one last joke.

As Romesh walked back to his seat, Bradley once again removed his mask and mouthed: “It’s a joke!”

Of course it was all in good spirits as the pair got on to enjoy the rest of tonight’s prestigious award’s show.
