Emmerdale spoilers hint that Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) could be about to steal her ex Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) back from love rival Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) in upcoming scenes.
Leyla’s desperation to marry Liam is mirrored by Bernice’s determination to stop the wedding from happening next week.
Leyla worries her she is jinxed on the lead up to the big day and begins to panic about marrying Liam.
On her wedding day, Leyla’s horror struck to find Bernice wearing a wedding dress.
Soon Bernice makes a last-ditch plea to Liam. Will she sabotage his wedding to Leyla?
It comes after Bernice was slapped by an angry Leyla after she was caught proposing to her ex Liam in dramatic scenes aired recently.
The hairdresser left the village to go and care for her ex Charlie following a horror accident and broke off her wedding to Liam.
Since Bernice’s sudden departure in 2019, Liam has moved on with Leyla and the pair have been busy planning their wedding.
Bernice recently caught up with Liam in the pub but they were interrupted by Leyla, who quickly made a big deal of marking her territory.
Later, Bernice tried to return Liam’s engagement ring, but when Leyla spotted them from a distance she got the wrong end of the stick and thought Bernice was trying to propose to her man.
All hell broke loose as Leyla stormed over and slapped Bernice.
Later in the cafe, Bernice told Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) that she thinks there’s still hope for her and Liam, but Nicola reminded her that her pregnant teenage daughter Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) needs her.
Speaking to Daily Star last month about her return to the soap, actress Samantha Giles said: “There’s a lot going on isn’t there? We’ve got Gabby pregnant and Liam about to get married to Leyla so there’s quite a lot of stuff to come back for.
“It’s lovely that the character was loved enough to want me to come back, that is a massive compliment.”
“I think one of the things about Bernice is when she gets up to her tricks she’s a bit of a nightmare.
Samantha, who’s played Bernice on off since 1998, went on to tease: “I think we can all guess that she’s not just going to take things laying down.
“She’s going to fight, even if she doesn’t really want Liam in the end, she’s going to fight for him.
“The scenes are good fun and It’s been nice because I’ve never got to work much with Roxy [Shahidi]. I hope the audience enjoy it.
“I certainly don’t think Liam will be falling at her feet.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm, with an extra helping on Thursdays at 8pm
