Get ready to Spice Up Your Life, because the Spice Girls have announced they will be releasing their first new music since 2007 – and all five members of the girl group are on the track!
The iconic girlband will be sharing a new song with the world to celebrate their 25th anniversary, and it’s a song called Feed Your Love, which is a previously unreleased ballad.
The formerly-hidden song will be the first new track from the band in 14 years and will feature vocals from all five of the Spice Girls including Victoria Beckham.
That means we’ll get a full line-up of Mel B, 46, Mel C, 47, Emma Bunton, 45, Geri Halliwell, 48, and Victoria, 47.
The legendary band were also known for their respective nicknames of Scary Spice (Mel B), Sporty Spice (Mel C), Baby Spice (Emma), Ginger Spice (Geri) and Posh Spice (Victoria).
The song is being featured as part of the band’s Wannabe25 EP which goes on sale next month (July).
The track is a demo of a secret ballad written by the Spice Girls and Wannabe co-writers Richard “Biff” Stannard and Matt Rowe.
The track is apparently a slow, soulful tune and was thought to have never been released because it was considered too racy for their audience at the time.
Although the song originally wasn’t meant to be heard, a short snippet of the track did end up getting leaked online back in 2016.
Other tracks on the upcoming EP include the original single and a remix by Junior Vasquez – which had been a bonus song on the 2 Become 1 single in 1996.
Wannabe was the group’s best-selling song – which hit No1 in 1996.
The single saw the girlband rocket to international fame, with over 1.3million CD singles and download sales.
The song was also record-breaking as the longest-reigning No1 ever held by a girl group.
The Spice Girls split up back in 2000 after rising to success in 1996 when Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell) decided to quit the group in 1998, but the band have reunited in recent years.
The titan pop group shook up the world when they announced their tour Spice World in 2019, which sold out across thirteen dates and had been the band’s first performance together since the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
Plans for another Spice Girls tour were also in motion but were delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The limited edition of Wannabe25 EP will be available to stream from July 9 – with physical copies ready to buy on July 23.
The band is also launching the #IAmASpiceGirl campaign, and they’ll be asking fans to share their stories about the group which will be featured on the Spice Girls website and social pages.
The band themselves said: “The Spice Girls belong to everyone and that’s why we want to mark 25 years of Wannabe by celebrating our incredible fans.”
Fans can send messages and videos using the #IAmASpiceGirl hashtag or they can contact spicegirls@umusic.com.
